We watched a film called triumph of the nerds, about the computer industry, mainly charting microsoft and apple.
it showed how the success of a computer is dependant on the quality of the software which the computer uses.
on Wednesday 10th, we watched a German film called ‘Run Lola run’ or ‘Lola Rent’ which translates literally to Lola runs.
The film was split into three different parts each time that showed how different actions changed the final outcomes. We followed watching the film with
some critical thinking about how the films plot was similar in relation to the way we play and interact with video games.
We also spent part of the morning looking at news papers in comparison to there web based counterparts. and concluded that while papers held more information the websites were accessible for a quick glimpse/snapshot of the current stories.
the session reminded me slightly of an english lesson in school. Although the session at the time was quite boring, with hind site i can appreciate the thought process that was carried out as a result.
